Boys day out at the game

Josh & football

Josh is playing tackle football this year. They had a scrimmage tonight. After it, Josh said he really liked live football. I asked him if ran the ball, NO. I asked him if he catched or passed the ball NO. I asked him if he had any tackles NO!

Sounds like fun!

Drew get highest math score!

Drew got a 29 out of 35. And 14 is considered a great score. 29 is highest the teacher has ever seen. Drew was so proud and we are so proud of Drew. Drew gets ice cream tonight!

Drew Heading to the Bus Stop

This morning as the sun was coming and the winter air was cool and clear. Drew was slowly walking along the street crushing the snow and ice layers that collected at the refrozen puddles. Crunch, crunch, crunch. We were running a little bit late as the kids had gathered at the corner, the bus was in the  neighborhood and rounding the corner. Drew snapped out of his snow crunching daze and started to hustle towards the bus. I lagged behind and thought he's got it from here and can make it on his own. Drew says, in his sweet little innocent voice, "hurry up Dad!"

He needs me for another ten feet to be that much closer to him as he gets on the bus. Tears enter my eyes as he hops on the bus.

I wonder how he navigates a day at school? Or what thoughts and fears must he have as he faces new situations at every moment. I can't be there at every turn.

I just want to bring him joy! And take away fear or loneliness.
